maxon motor is committed to using resources sparingly and minimising impact on the environment. We continually make all our staff aware of their ecological responsibilities, and ensure that they constantly improve the company's environmental performance: we avoid unnecessary emissions and keep what we have to use to a bare minimum.
Energy-efficient drive systems with an efficiency of at least 90 % form the basis of maxon motor’s approach to sustainability.
On that basis, maxon motor has systematically developed an environmental management system (EMS) in accordance with environmental standard ISO 14001:2004 for all business processes.
As part of its EMS, maxon motor is also investing in renewable energy: At the headquarters in Switzerland as well as at the production site in Germany the company has photovoltaic systems in operation. The installed system perfectly blends into a long range of consequently implemented measures. Thus, for example, heating and air conditioning systems of production facilities and offices feature phreatic water heat exchangers that supply most of the required energy. At the same time, extracted air and process heat is captured with waste heat recovery systems and fed back into the heating/cooling circuit.
