Seminars and Workshops – Drive Selection

Description
These seminars and workshops focus on drive selection and follows the 7 steps sketched in the book “The selection of high-precision microdrives” by U. Kafader.

The selection of motor, gearhead, encoder and controller for a particular application is based on the right interpretation of the information that can be found on product data sheets provided by the manufacturer, e.g. the maxon catalog and website. Hence, the reading of DC motor data sheets and the understanding of DC motor behaviour and operating ranges are central parts of these seminars.

Depending on the content the effective seminar duration may vary between 3 and 6 hours.

Target group
Engineers and students who need a basic introduction or refresher on how to successfully select drive components.

Learning objectives
The participants will learn...
- to understand motor and gearhead data sheets
- to select appropriate drive components for a given drive problem

Methods
The topics will be covered in a mix of presentations, demonstrations and practical examples.
