Held in Nagoya, Japan from July 27 to 31, more than 3,500 scientists and robotic developers from around the world gather to test and demonstrate their robots at the annual RoboCup competition.

With five main events being the RoboCup Soccer match, RoboCup Industrial (focusing on logistics & warehousing systems), RoboCup Rescue (using a major disaster scenario, participants showcase their Disaster rescue robots), RoboCup @Home (where Robots assist everyday life in the home, such as kitchens, opening & closing doors etc) and RoboCup Junior (for children between 11-19 years of age) each event highlights the abilities of not only the robots themselves but the brains behind them.
