1-Q-EC Amplifier DECS 50/5
The DECS 50/5 (Brushless DC Motor Controller) is a new motor control unit for driving brushless DC motors without Hall sensors.
Typical sensorless DC motor drives such as pumps and fan applications can now easily be created thanks to modern controller technology and expert integrated controlling algorithms. maxon’s own in-house developed motor speed controller is particularly impressive through its performance, price and size.
The wide input voltage range of 10 to 50 V means that the DECS 50/5 is a very flexible and adaptable small DC motor controller. In continuous operation, an output current of 5A of the power stage is permissible, giving it a maximum output performance of 250 Watts – all this with it only being the size of a business card. The DC motor speed value can be set via an integrated potentiometer or an analogue set value. The 1-Q motor amplifier can be operated at up to a maximum speed of 80 000 rpm.
As well as being a top performer, attractively priced and very small, the new motor amplifier’s other key feature is that it can be easily adapted to specific motor requirements. The free choice of DC motor starting sequence is a major benefit, as it allows the attached DC motor to start up easily, even when the DC motor data or load ratios are unfavourable. The DECS 50/5 also provides control inputs for selecting DC motor direction, enable and braking. As usual, the necessary motor protection functions have all been fully implemented. An operating status display (LED) and motor speed monitor output complete the convenient motor control features.
Plug-in screw terminals and a Flexprint connector for maxon flat pancake motors are available for connection.
