Technical report on energy efficiency in small DC motors

The latest technical document authored by maxon motor technical trainer Jan Braun focuses on energy efficiency and highlights how motor efficiency requirements have affected the design of many products. Application examples and selection processes are given throughout. Topics include motors operating in the no-load range, motors operated at standstill, control, load mechanics, pulse width modulation and motor chokes. In an increasingly battery powered and greener world high efficiency design and the correct selection of components are becoming more and more important. maxon motor strives to further educate not only its own engineers but also the designers of the future.
